A very pleasant evening spent on the balcony having dinner with our friends. The staff were friendly, the food was superb and no long waits. Unfortunately our evening was cut short when our server announced we needed to be finished by 9.15pm. They were going to close as it was “not busy enough and they couldn’t afford the wages to keep the staff on”! We still had a bottle of wine to finish and had not been offered the dessert menu. Not a great way to end a wonderful evening. It spoilt the $300 experience.
The $300 experience (dinner for four) was spoiled when, at 2045, we were informed the restaurant (The Balcony) would close at 2115. Advertised closing time is 2200 on a Saturday night. Early closing was said to be due to low patronage and as a result not being able to afford wages. We were not offered the dessert menu and left with half a bottle of wine that could not be finished before 2115. I was not impressed with customer care, although the food and friendliness of staff were good.
Worst bar service I have experienced for a long time. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend it or be coming back.||Staff appeared miserable and were in no hurry to serve anyone despite not being busy. Great old building just crap service
What a nightmare. When we arrived the place was closed up with no reception. Details of how to access the hotel and our room was provided but there was nothing about wifi access, tv coverage, etc. The blind onto the street didn’t close …
They have quite soundproof rooms with great air-conditioning. They got robbed the night I stayed there and I didn't hear anything.
I love the Charm , History , Location of ‘the Palace’ … right in the heart of Kalgoorlie. Balcony rooms allow you to sense & feel Kal.
Highlight of our stay in Kal, food was great. Sitting outside on the balcony was a great experie6watching the world go by.
Great position. Walking distance to everything. Has meals listed as all day, breakie, lunch, dinner and snacking.. bed hard. Telly wouldnt work. Went for breakie and told we dont do breakie...SLACK!@@
